‘’The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world,
are the ones that do’’

Steve Jobs

The GBV Charitable Trust was first established in January 2015, in Nairobi Kenya.

The work of the Trust began when our Founder, Genevieve, was on a Medical placement in Nairobi, and was stationed at a city slum mission hospital. On Genevieve’s fourth day on the continent of Africa, she was hand holding a 9 year old girl, who was 8 months pregnant after gang rape, through her C Section. The child was 27 kgs when she went into theatre.

Genevieve launched the Foundation that evening. Over the next five years, the Trust and its entities have rescued over 1000 children in Kenya from rape, sex trafficking and prostitution. Of that figure, as at August 10th 2019, Genevieve and our team have sourced funding and dedicated her life to providing post rape repair surgeries and long term rehabilitation, to 519 children.

4 months old is the youngest female we have admitted for post rape reconstruction and repair.

Our youngest boy has been 9 months old.

Children who were unable to remain safe in their previous environments have remained sponsored by, and in the care of our 9 Charitable Trusts, NFP companies and community organisations.

Many are sponsored into private school after receiving long term rehabilitation and care in our safe houses that we operate in Nairobi, Narok, Samburu, Rift Valley, Kajiado, Busia, Trans-Nzoia and Homa Bay counties.
